Fashion phototgraphy

1When is an image a Portrait? When is it a fashion photograph? Are the two the same?

It is a Portrait when they had interest on heads, shoulder and neck because the interest is on the personality of the model to see who they are. like it’s continue using the ID, passport, visa and other forms when you applying where ever you wanted.
Portrait is to use by everyone who are not getting any touch with media, with all the smart phones. In Portrait you would only like to see the person face. In 20th century…..

It is a Fashion photograph when they had interests on chosen designed clothes and models self-personality from real life performance.

2. To what degree should an image manipulated to go into a fashion magazine?

In the film the following manipulations occur?

How about manipulations to the photos before they are taken, models, Makeup, sets clothes?

At American Vogue Anna Wintour, editor, and Grace Coddington, creative director, worked together for years and they have discussed the location together to choose which clothes would be better for the fashion Magazine page. Also they were choosing the skinniest models for the clothes they want for future fashion.

After companies have taken the commercial photos of models they change the models face, eyebrows moved upwards from eyes, they contrast the picture, warp the neck look longer and look skinny, brightening the models hair and sharping the hair look wavier.

The bad thing is manipulated the models picture is to change the models face, eyebrows, lips and neck to make its look like fake model and looks not the same picture from the original models picture.
It’s bad because when the pictures around the world people going to feel bad about them-self and thing they are Fat and too ugly to be in that frame of fashion and effect in the meaningless was to make them self to be skinny and they start dangerous diet and end with death, but the biggest problem that Manipulated pictures can make people change completely their self by surgeries doing their face, lips, eyebrows, Big boob surgeries, and skin color.

For example:

The good thing of manipulated the models picture is to change the models hair look brighter sharpens to look more wavy.

3. Is there a clash between the creative and commercial side of fashion Photography?

What clashes occur in the film between the creative and commercial?
The editing room was the purpose argument is for the company’s future and to make audience can follow the world fashion to earn more money.

Who wins?

I say the company’s commercial wins.

Do you agree? Why?

The Execution - Eddie Adams

Eddie Adams was the camera man who took the picture then this man came out of no where and shot the prisoner's head by no reason. American TV was left surprised because the innocent prisoner was handcuffed behind and this man came out from nowhere he didn't even know, then he got shot in the head. When he got on the floor, the supporters wouldn't support this anymore because he was killed on American TV. Although there was an impact from the video because in the video it happens in a second and we can see him going ont he floor and we can see blood coming out of him and the cameras taking pictures of his dead body and the man acted like nothing had happened.  This is becoming common but this is the first time it is on TV.

The still picture had a greater impact over the video because the picture was more clear than the video because the picture shows more details of his face, more drama and more detailed.  It showed America what was happening in Vietnam and shocked the American people.

Photo journalism

Henri Cartier Bresson -

What is photojournalism?

Photojournalism is like an art communicating news magazines and telling stories with pictures.

Why is he famous?

Henry Cartier-Bresson was the first photojournalist by publishing his pictures in 1937 and he invented The Decisive Moment and become a father of modern Photojournalism in 1924 then he had new subjects about London Street. Because his pictures have some beautiful meanings and now our generation of world, that photographer flowing his steps.

Why is his work significant in Photojournalism?

Henri Cartier Bresson picture have some meaning that show it like it’s actually in real life. He was waiting the moment that some life is going to be in shot that he shoots with this picture on the left. Widths he invented The Decisive Moment. If he could of shoot 2 second early the man on the bike would be look behind the stairs or 3 second late could be look half of the bike and the man could of being bad potshot. But he actually got in between the stairs handle and the corner of the wall.
Find and upload to your blog some work of theirs

What Camera/Technique did he use?

He used 35mm Leica Camera to capture how he wanted to take the decisive moment of the shot and he traveled the world to take different life format. He said "the camera is another tool for me and I never took one moment of one place for more than one. I never look at what I took I just send them away. I love shooting new things" and he said "It's can't be teachable, I just use three fingers, and Carry my camera in my pocket like a brush". There is an interview bottom of the page.

More pictures that he becomes the world famous godfather of Photojournalism.
